Review Of Manna Kadar LipLocked Priming Lip Wand : J'adore

January 15, 2017

Manna Kadar, a name very new to the cosmetics world. So when the Fab Bag gave us an option to choose a product between two shades of Manna Kadar lipLocked Priming lip wands and few shades of Sugar Matte as hell lip crayons, I didn't even notice it. Sugar products are literally made of dreams. They are bound to overshadow everything else. I was just about to confirm a sugar lip crayon when I suddenly saw the Manna kadar lip wands. My brother who was right beside me said I should try new stuff but still I decided to google first. But I couldn't find any review. All I could get is it's an american brand which is quite popular with the subscription boxes there. So I decided to listen to my brother and give it a try and picked up J'Adore.

Packaging

It does not come in a box. The lip wand looks like a thick crayon pencil. It is made of good quality plastic. The body is black where the brand name, that is, Manna Kadar beauty simplified is printed along with LipLocked Priming lip Wand in white and the quantity of the product is mentioned as well. The cap is a transparent sturdy one so you can see the colour of the lipstick from outside. Also the bottom of the wand is coloured according to the colour of the shade and the best part is it is a twist up lip crayon. So basically no wastage of product.

Color

So J'Adore is definitely a pretty nude shade. I mentioned in my fab bag unboxing post that it has a pinkish undertone. A sweet reader who also requested for a review mentioned that she thought it was a peachy nude. That time I swatched it just once and casually dropped whatever I felt the colour looks like. So basically I did a lot of hand as well as lip swatches, compared this to my other nude lipsticks and came to this conclusion. First of all, nudes are very interesting colours. They look different on different skin tones unlike bold colours like red, pink, orange etc, which pretty much look the same on every skin tone. A peachy nude will have a slight orangish undertone. J'Adore is sort of a peachy nude but it definitely has a slight pinking undertone. Since I have Indian skin complexion, my skin tone is blue. Therefore, the lipstick looks slightly pinkish nude but if you are fairer than me, it'll look peachy nude and if darker, then more pinkish nude.
Phew, let's just say it's a beautiful neutral shade.

Pigmentation

Pigmentation is amazing. With just one application, you get the colour on the lips. But you can apply twice as well. Doesn't get cakey.

Application

Very easy to apply. Very very smooth and creamy.

Texture

The texture is matte.

Staying power

Very bad. Transfers a lot and there's hardly any lipstick left on the lips once you eat or drink. Not a good option to wear if you are out and it involves eating. You need to retouch it a lot of times.

Removal

Quite obvious. It does get removed easily. You don't need a makeup remover. Just wipe it off. And there's no stain left once removed.

Smell

No smell. At least I couldn't smell anything.

So let's just take a look at the pros and cons then:

Pros

1. The lip wand looks classy.
2. The shade is pretty.
3. Twist up lip crayon so no need to sharpen, no wastage of products.
4. Application and pigmentation is great.
5. Removal is easy.

Cons

1. Staying power is horrible.
2. Transfers.
3. No outer box or packaging.
4. Costly.

Will I buy again?

Well to be honest, I might choose the other shades if I get an option in my Fab Bag subscription but I won't spend Rs. 1799/- on this lipstick. So, no I won't buy with my own money, but would love to try the other shades if I get it for a lesser price.

Well that's just my opinion. I hope, it was helpful.

Love,
Sumelika ♥
