My February In 3 Looks

February 04, 2018

The second month of 2018 is already here and I cannot wait to make everyday of February count. January was quite productive and I have reached so many little goals I had for the month. It feels great to be motivated and work towards your goals, doesn't matter if it's big or small, the sense of achievement you feel pushes you more towards working harder for your dreams. I feel really positive and even though I always said I have content but I don't know how to put them in words, I feel now I can.
On that note, I have a lot of plans and goals for February as well. I decided I want to focus on 3 areas of my life for this month.
1. Academics.
2. Being more casual and carefree.
3. Being more bold and confident in terms of personality as well as fashion.

So, on the basis of that, I decided why don't I create 3 different looks that describe each aspect of the above 3 in terms of fashion. I know I haven't done anything like this on my blog before, so this, again, is something new and I am really excited to get your responses for this post as well.
So let's move on to the looks.

The Preppy Girl

My final year of college started and I am really excited to do my classes and learn so many new things. They say the most important time to learn as a doctor is when you are in your final year since it's all about clinical classes and I am totally ready for it. Instead of getting scared I actually have a positive outlook for this year. So, on that note, I created a preppy look. I wore a simple black and white peplum top with pearl details that adds to the prep factor. Paired it up with a pair of black jeans.  For my shoes I went ahead with a nude pink block heels. I love the transparent heels and the chromatic details in the front of the shoes. I carried a black studded handbag and completed the look with a pair of nerdy glasses.

Casual And Carefree

I am a person who overthinks and takes a lot of stress unnecessarily. I have this problem of complicating things for myself. So this month I will focus more on simplicity. There's so much bliss in simplicity. So, to represent this goal, I created a casual and carefree look. I wore a simple white top and paired it up with a blue denim. The favourite part is the criss-cross details in front of the jeans. It gives such a retro vibe. For my footwear, I wore this black embroidered boots. I am obsessed with embroidery and chances are you are going to see a lot of that in my upcoming posts. I carried a simple purse and completed my look with a pair of glasses and gold choker.

The Girl Boss

I have always made safe fashion choices. But as a blogger I want to grow and for that I need to come out of my comfort zone. I am ready to be more bold and confident. And this look represents that aspect of my goal. So, for the third look, I wore a black tee shirt dress with criss-cross details in front. I wore a denim dress as a cape. And the star of the outfit would be the ripped denim boots. I always wanted to wear this pair of boots but I was scared if I am not cautious the way I style it I will end up looking like a disaster. But then I realised all I need was confidence. So when I was shooting for this look, I turned quite a lot of heads but I knew they looked because I looked amazing and that is the kind of confidence I need for everything in my life. And lastly, the same pair of glasses to complete the look.

So, that's all. It was a different kind of post altogether. I realised it makes me feel good when I can be more personal on the blog. I feel like I can connect. So instead of just talking about outfits, I decided to share the backstory too. I hope you like this post. Do let me know if you want more such posts. As a blogger the best part is when your readers reciprocate. So do leave a comment. It motivates me a lot.

Love,
Sumelika ♥

  1. Love the idea, because I believe the way how we dress makes us feel somehow and changes our mood. When I dress up like in your third photo, I really feel like a girl boss and that's why I am currently working on my own fashion label so that I can make clothes that will make every woman feel that way. So this post was so relateable and accurate! Great post! :)
